A patient at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Gusau in Zamfara State who was suspected to be infected with Lassa fever died early yesterday while under medical watch, Daily Trust gathered.
The head of Clinical Unit at the centre, Dr Hamza Garba, said a bleeding patient from ‘Yar Tukunya village in Gusau LGA was admitted and quarantined but could not confirm if it was Lassa fever. The Director of Public Health in the Ministry of Health, Dr Habib Yalwa, said the ministry had not received any case of that nature.
