The National Association of Northern Nigeria Students, Oduduwa Youth Development Initiatives, and Representatives of the Senior and Junior Staff of Health and Human Services Secretariat have lauded the Secretary, Health and Human Services, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Dr. Ademola Onakomaiya, for his contributions to the nation’s development.
Onakomaiya, who was crowned the NANNS Man of the Year 2013, was lauded for making numerous positive contributions to the health sector, youth empowerment, education development and humanitarian services in the year 2013.
NANNS President, Agbese Orinyain, said during the presentation of the award that the secretary had transformed hospitals in the FCT. He said the award was aimed at challenging him to do more.
Past recipients of the award include Dr. Olusola Saraki; Niger State Governor, Dr. Babangida Aliyu; Mrs. Amma Pepple; Dr. Ibrahim Wada; Prof. Olugbemiro Jegede; Prof. Ishaq Oloyede; Mrs. Regina Agbese; Mr. Harris Ogbole; and Senator Grace Bent.
The Executive Secretary, Oduduwa Youth Development Initiative, Mr. Awoyinfa Segun, said the award was in recognition of Onakomaiya’s outstanding humanitarian services to the development of youth empowerment in nation building.
