THE National Primary Health Care Development Agency
Beware! Beware!! Beware!!!

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency and Partners hereby remind the general public that meningitis season is around the corner. Meningitis is an infectious disease that may be caused by bacteria and viruses. The disease, which affects the spinal cord and the brain, can be fatal.
It is very common during the dry harrnattan season and is transmitted from person to person. Maintaining good personal hygiene, a well-ventilated environment and vaccination can prevent it.
The signs and symptoms may include severe headache, stiff neck, vomiting, fever, restlessness and loss of orientation and consciousness.
When any of these signs and symptoms is noticed, please visit a nearby medical or health centre. Remember prevention is b~ttef than cure, and health is wealth.
