Imo State government has assured investors of its preparedness to partner with them and give them the necessary leverage to enable their investments thrive.
The state deputy governor, Prince Eze Madumere who gave the assurance while playing host to a delegation of Turkish investors in his office whose interest is to invest in the health sector, stated the Owelle Rochas Okorocha’s administration was committed to building a sustainable economy for the state.
He told the delegation led by Dr. Cengiz Tokgoz that top on the government’s agenda was reformation and transformation of the health sector so that it would attain the status of a world player in health solutions.
He revealed that Rochas Okorocha-led administration in a bid to realise this set goal had already built 27 state -of-the-art hospitals, in each of the local governments in the state and a specialist hospital in each of the three senatorial zones in the state. The deputy governor emphasised that the major policy thrust of the administration was to build a productive base, adding that great emphasis was being placed on industrial development and employment generation.
Earlier in his remarks, the adviser to the state governor on Small and Medium Scale Enterprises, Barr. Rex Anunobi noted that the investors’ visit is a direct fall-out from Governor Okorocha’s earlier investment trips to Turkey.
Stating the purpose of their visit earlier, Dr. Cengiz of Onrigi Medical Services said they were in the state to inspect Imo Specialist Hospital, Umuguma, Owerri, Imo State with a view to transforming it into a world class centre for medi-care. Among those in his delegation are Engr. Metin Ongul of Medica Medical equipment, Engr. Gurbuz of Tokgoz Construction and Arc. Duran Sefertas.
