The Association of Medical Laboratory Scientist of Nigeria(AMLSN)University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) Chapter has Suspended its industrial action.
It had embarked on the work-to-rule strike over what it called blantant abuse of court orders shortage of manpower, and harsh working conditions at UBTH.
Chairman, UBTH Chapter Olumoye Abdulazeez in a circular urged member to return to their duty-post today.
Abdulazeez, who praised the members for ttheir support during the industrial action assured them that the association was commited to the struggle for their rights. The Lab Scientist had decried the high cost of laboratory analysis at UBTH, saying it is highest paid by patients in the country.
While we are aware of the huge cost being charged by UBTH as the highest payable in the country for the Highest payable in the country for laboratory analysis, we are equally baffled by the way and manner the authority has deliberately decided to make life and the working conditions of AMLSN and its members unbearable since management has declined payment of our arrears, promotion and regrading of our members, the association had said while embarking on the strike.
The Resolution was said to have followed a meeting between the association's Leaders and UBTH managements.
