The University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan has stepped up its Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative on advanced laboratory services.
Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the hospital, Professor Temitope Alonge, said the move would help checkmate the trend of medical tourism as the hospital had acquired assorted state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony of the medical milestones recorded by the hospital, he said Nigerian patients no longer needed to travel overseasfor laboratory diagnostic tests because of the modern advanced laboratoryfacilities now available at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, adding that UCH was set to advance the frontiers of healthcare in the country. Professor Alonge attributed the present level of development at UCH to the Public Private Partnership arrangement which the hospital embarked upon, in which Fidelity Bank assisted it with N190million in two tranches, which was used in procuring several laboratory equipment.
