UNICEF Nigeria seeks the services of an experienced Health Specialist who will be responsible for the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and admistration of Health programme within the country programme. The incumbent of the post will provide effective technical support to facilitate the application and adaptation of UNICEF policies and strategies to achieve strategic priorities and objectives and expansion of UNICEF assisted Health interventions, including the attainment of the Millennium Development Golas aganda.

Minimum Qualifcations & Competencies 
. Master's in Public Health and University degree in Medicine or Nursing /Midwifery or related technical field.
. Five years progressively responsible experience with Life Saving Skills training and practice an  advantage.
. Fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of local working language of the duty station, and asset.
. Ability to make timely and quality judgments and decisions and very good training skills.
. Demonstrated ability to work in a muti-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization.

UNICEF Nigeria seeks the services of an experienced Health Specialist who will be accountable for contributing to the development, planning,implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Supplemental Immunization Activities (SIA) component of the Immunization programme in conjuniction with child Survival & Devlopment, Maternal & Child Health Health and Nutrition components within the country programme.
Minimum Qualifcations & Competencies 
. Advanced University degree in Public Health, Child Development, Child Health, Nurtition, Epidemiology, Public Administration, Social Policy, Social Development, Community, or other relevant disciplines.
. Five years of professional work experience in planning, programming, implementation monitoring and evalualtion of health/immunization programmes. Professional work experience related to child survival & health care. Working experience, background/familiarity with Emergency, an asset. 
. Fluency in English. Knowledge of location working language of the duty station of asset.

Post Title: Maternal New-born and Child health (MNCh) Consultant

Lacation: Adamawa and Kebbi
Rationale
This consultant is to support the State ministry of health, state primary health care development agency and other partners in the implementation of evidence-based interventions that will result in the scale-up of and improved access to maternal and newborn health services with a particular focus on systems strengtherning, local capacity building and focused mentoring communties in Adamawa and Kebbi State  
The Consultant will support the SMOH, SPHCDA and other partners in the implementation of various strategies and interventions that will strengthen partnership for policy reforms, sector governance and stewardship at LGA level, increased transparency and accountability, provision of sustainable and scaled-up integrated MNCH service delivery with equity and Community participation
Specific Objectives:
. Increased proportion of women who are able to correctly recognize pregenancy complications and seek timely care, when required. 
. Increased proportion of poor, marginalized, rural women with increased financial access to a health facility for pre--pregnacy, routine ANC and Emergency NEWborn and Obstetric Care services
. Improved nutrition of women and children along the continuum of care from preconception to child hood. 
. Strengthened health systems governance by improving decentralized planning and budgeting processes for improved accountablity and transparency in the delivery of maternal and newborn services.
End Product:
. Annual State work and operational plans 
. Quarterly DHIS and PHC reviwe reports
. Reports of Workshop/Meetings with actionable recommendations
 . Reports of milestones achieved to advance project implementation.
Minimum qualifications or specialized Knowledge/experience required 
.Master's in Public Health and univeraity degree in medicine or Nursing/Midwifery or related field.
. Ten years progressively responsible experience in designing , implementing and evaluating of health projects particularly, safe motherhood and neonatal care projects. Experience with life Saving Skills training and practice an advantage,
. Fluencyu in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of local working language of duty station, an asset.
. Knowledge of the latest developments and technology in related fields
. Ability to make timely and quality judgments and decisions and very good training skills 
. Computer skills, including internet navigation and various office applications
. Demonstrated ablility to work in a muti- cultural envirnment and establish harmonious and effective working realtionships,
