The University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital has been commended for the quality of services rendered by its Paediatrics department.
Team leader of a three-person accreditation team from the West Africa College of physicians Prof M. T. Egiri Okwaji, made the commendation while briefing the hospital’s management on their findings, “I wish to commend the management of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital for achievements in the area of Paediatrics”
The visiting accreditation team which comprised of Prof. Wanmanda of Abuja Teaching Hospital as well as Prof. Ngozi Ojinaka of University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, arrived UPTH on Monday 29th February 2016 and, promptly undertook a working tour of the entire Paediatrics department with officers of the department on hand to conduct them around and respond to enquiries.
Responding to their findings and suggestions on areas of improvement, the Chief Medical Director Prof. Aaron Ojule expressed gratitude to the visiting team for their mission, “I wish to appreciate the accreditation team for their visit as well as appreciate their detailed work.”
Prof. Ojule also commended members of staff of the Paediatrics department for their dedication to duty.
The accreditation exercise covered a period of two days.
