Accreditation team from the West African College of Surgeons visited Federal Medical centre (FMC) Keffi from 30th June to 2nd July, 2015. The four- man team was headed by Professor J. D Seffah. The purpose of the visit was to inspect the centre’s facilities, infrastructure and equipment with a view to ascertaining the institution’s eligibility for full accreditation top train Resident Doctors in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
The accreditation team were at the center on the 13th September 2012,during when the center was given partial accreditation for 2 years to train resident doctors up to part one level only. With a maximum of 10 residents doctors as at 2012 visit.
This re-accreditation visit which concluded 30th June to 2 July, 2015 is a full time accreditation exercise.
The team members include:
Professor J.D Seffah, Professor B.A Ekele, Professor S.O Shitu and Professor J.K Ikechebelu

The team was generally impressed by the department from the last time they were around.
Although some areas that needed improvement were noticed by the team, the visit was generally a success.
Management remains optimistic that the institution will be given full accreditation.
