Sixteen of the 45 Jigawa State born Almajirai returned from Kano State have tested positive for COVID-19. The state Commissioner for Health who is also the Chairman, State Taskforce on COVID-19, Dr Abba Zakari, disclosed this while addressing a news conference at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Panisau on Thursday.
He said the committee was still awaiting 555 more results from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and one private laboratory. “So far, Jigawa State has received 1,102 Almajirai returnees from Kano, Gombe, Kaduna and Nasarawa states respectively,” he said.
