INTERNSHIP/RESEARCH ATTACHMENT FOR POSTGRADUATE 

 

UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

The Internship/Research Attachment programme (which is different from the Students Industrial Work experience and carry out topical research within shell Exploration & Producation Companies in Nigeria (SEPCIN).

a. Position

Open primarily to talented Nigeria postgraduate students currently in Nigerian univeristies, but in exceptional cases, Nigerians studying abroard could be condidered (MSc. students must be under 30 years by Novermber 1,2014 and PhD students under 35 years by November 1, 2014 to qualify to apply

b. Duration

12 months (non-renewable)

c. Discipline Areas

Geology (Geochemistry, Basin Modelling and pore Pressure Prediction); Specialist Geology (Biostratigraphy, Sequence Stratigraphy, Sedimentology, Sedimentory Petrography, Petrology); Geophysics Petrophysics; Well Engineering; Electrcal Engineering; Civil/Structural Engineering; Production Technology; Production Geosciences,; Environment (Environmental Monitoring, Remediation, Impact Assessment, Carbon/Energy Managemental) Geomatics 

(Remote Sensing and GIS, Environmental Mapping and Monitoring); Occupational Health

d. Method of Application

Applications from candidates should consist of

ii. curriculum witae including applicants contact phone number, email address, as well as contact information of three referees and 

iii. a 3-paged summary of candidate's postgraduate research programme including study background, technical objectives methodology/date required and expected

Selection will be based on postgraduate programmes/proposales that are pertinent to SEPCiN business objectives and only students with the highest potential will pass screening.

SABBATICAL ATTACHMENT FOR UNIVERISTY LECTURERS

The sabbatical programme offers university lecturers and opportunity to undertake reseach that would contribute to Shell Exploration & Production Companies in Nigeria (SEPCiN) business, while offering them ovenues to acquire industry-related experience. The programmealso offers opportunities for lectureship at the Centre of Excellence in Geoscience and Peteroleum Engineering at the Centre of Excellence in Geoscience and Petroleum Engineering at the University of benin in the following disciplines: Petroleum Geology, Geophysics and Petroleum Engineering 

a. Position

Senior Lectures and above (Candidates who will be over 60 years by October 31, 2015 need not apply)

b. Duration 

12 months (non-renewable

c. Discipline Areas 

Regional (Petroleum) Geology, Specialist Geology (Biostratigraphy, Sequence Stratigraphy, Sedimentology, sedimentary (Petrography); Geophysics; Civil/Structural Engineering Environment (Environmental Monitoring); NGO/ Corporate Communication, Information &Impact Management, Sustainable Community Development; Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Poediatrics & Community Health , Occupational Health

d. Method of Application

iii. a 1. paged summary of how the candidates intends to add walue to the SEPCiN business during the one years programme. Sabbatical positions are highly competitve. Selection will be based on proposals that are pertinent to SEPCiN business objectives
