Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, Nigeria, is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for various key positions within the university. The available vacancies span across different departments, including Health Services, and Laboratory Technology. These positions provide an excellent opportunity for professionals to contribute to the university’s growth and development.  

Director, Health Services

•   - Manages the university’s health facilities and provides oversight for medical services.  
•   - Candidates should have a degree in Medicine (MBBS) and be registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, with at least 15 years of experience.  

Requirements  

• i. MBBS + NYSC or evidence of exemption.  
• ii. Evidence of current registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).  
• iii. Professional certification in Medicine (e.g., FWACP, FMCP, FRCP).  
• iv. A minimum of 12 years of post-qualification experience in medical practice with at least three (3) years of satisfactory service as a Senior Medical Officer.  
• v. ICT proficiency.  
• vi. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.  
• vii. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.  

Chief Medical Laboratory Technologist

•   - Leads laboratory services within the university, ensuring quality control and standard procedures.  
•   - Must possess a relevant degree in Medical Laboratory Science, with a minimum of 15 years of experience.

Requirements  

• i. At least a second-class lower honors degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related field plus NYSC or exemption certificate.  
• ii. Evidence of current registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).  
• iii. At least 12 years post-qualification experience, with 3 years as a Senior Chief Medical Laboratory Technologist.  
• iv. Strong technical, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.  
• v. Proficiency in ICT.  
• vi. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.  

General Requirements  

• - All applicants must have a minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience in their respective fields.  
• - Professional certifications and relevant registrations with regulatory bodies are mandatory where applicable.  
• - Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are required.  

Conditions of Service  

• - Successful candidates will be appointed for a renewable single term of five years.  
• - Salaries and benefits will be in accordance with existing university policies.
