Achievers University, located in Owo, Ondo State, Nigeria, commenced academic activities on 2nd April, 2008. The University has admitted 16 sets of students and graduated 12 sets of Achievers, including three sets of postgraduates, who are doing very well in all spheres of human endeavours. At Achievers University, the tutoring is holistic, aimed at developing the total man in line with its avowed mission to provide the enabling environment - physically and academically - for the production of competent and certifiable graduates who would be self-reliant, highly productive and globally relevant".

The School of Postgraduate Studies offers programmes designed to expand the frontiers of knowledge and provides students a platform to achieve career goals in their respective chosen fields of expertise. The School offers admission to the following programmes:

1. DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING  

PGD, M.Sc, Ph.D. Accounting  

2. DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION  

PGD, M.Sc., MBA, Ph.D. Business Administration  

Candidates with degree(s) in other business - related disciplines such as Accounting, Finance and Actuarial Science may be considered for the PGD and master's programmes.  

3. DEPARTMENT OF CHEMICAL SCIENCES  

I) PGD, M.Sc, Ph.D. Industrial Chemistry  

II) PGD, M.Sc, Ph.D. Biochemistry  

4. DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE  

PGD, M.Sc, Ph.D. Computer Science  

5. DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCE  

PGD, M.Sc, Ph.D. Medical Laboratory Science in the following specializations: Medical Microbiology and Parasitology, Chemical Pathology, Histopathology and cytopathology, and haematology and blood transfusion science.  

6. DEPARTMENT OF NURSING SCIENCE  

PGDN, M.Sc, Ph.D. Nursing Science  

7. DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE  

I) PGD, M.Sc, Ph.D. Political Science  

II) PGD, M.Sc, Ph.D. International Relations  

8. DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY, CRIMINOLOGY AND SECURITY STUDIES

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

i. PGD

Candidates much have a minimum of 3rd Class Division degree or any other relevant degree from Achievers University, Owo or any other recognized university in proposed programme of study. Holders of HND (minimum of Lower Credit) or AIMLS (for Medical Laboratory Science) are eligible to apply.  

ii. PGDN

Candidates with diploma in RN, RM, RPH and degree in other fields related to nursing profession are eligible.  

iii. MBA

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with at least 2nd Class Lower Division from Achievers University or any other university recognized by the Senate. Candidates with 3rd Class bachelor's degree, HND (minumum of Lower Credit) in a relevant or professional qualification such as ACA, ICAN, ACIB, NIM, CIPM etc. must have, in addition, a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 to qualify for admission.  

iv. MSc.  

Candidates must have a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division degree of Achievers University, Owo or any other recognized university in proposed programme of study.  

Candidates with 3rd Class bachelor's degree or HND (minimum of Lower Credit) must have, in addition, a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.0 maximum CGPA to qualify for admission.  

v. Ph.D

Candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% (B grade) in Master of Science degree of any university recognized by Senate in relevant disciplines. Candidates with M.Phil certificates from recognized universities are also eligible for admission. Candidates must demonstrate adequate intellectual capacity, maturity as well as effective decision-making and problem - solving potentials.
