The Provost of College of Health Sciences of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi, Anambra State, Prof Okwudili Udemezue is dead. Sources said Udemezue died of diabetes and COVID-19 complications.
One of the sources said, “I learnt his result came out on Wednesday and he tested positive for the pandemic. The Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee, Dr Joe Ugboaja, confirmed the death of the provost to journalists.
“But I can’t confirm that the provost died of COVID-19 as the sample of the test is still being awaited.” The acting Public Relations Officer of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Chika Eneh, also said the institution had yet to receive any report on the cause of the death.
