Plans have been concluded by the Gombe State Government for enrolment of beneficiaries of Basic Health Care Provision Funds across the 11 Local Government Areas of the state.

Our correspondent observed that contacts had already been made with the communities and all relevant stakeholders for the enrollment.

The Contributory Healthcare Management Agency is an agency whose establishment was signed into law in December 2019 by Governor of Gombe State, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya.

The enrolment process would cover all the 11 Local Government Areas and 114 wards in the state, while the process would be in two batches.

The Basic Health Care Provision Fund was designed to increase public spending in health and reduce out-of-pocket expenditure by consolidating funds from government sources, donors, and partners for a results-based and decentralised facility financing approach.

The funds is also aimed at giving access to healthcare services free to the poor, physically-challenged, pregnant women, children under-five and internally displaced persons.
