Job Title: Biomedical Engineer

Location: Lagos

Job Objective (s)

The role is responsible for driving business growth through the promotion and sales of Biomedical equipment, devices and solutions while managing key relationships with INGO's, healthcare institutions and strategic partners as well as maintenance of all hospital and laboratory medical equipment.

The position blends technical product understanding INGO engagement, proposal development, client relationship and market expansion strategies.

Responsibilties

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and diagnostic centres, NGO's and INGO's.
  • Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, catalogues, and technical pitch materials to potential clients.
  • Prepare and submit quotations, proposals, and tender documents for equipment supply and service contracts.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to design and implement promotional materials and campaigns for biomedical products.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital administrators, laboratory managers, and procurement officers.
  • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets, contributing to overall business growth.
  • Carry out troubleshooting to restore functionality with minimal downtime.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with manufacturer and OEM standards.
  • Provide technical support during equipment procurement, installation, and commissioning.
  • Participate in commissioning, acceptance testing, and validation of new medical and laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, calibrations, installations, and maintenance activities.
  • Provide end-user training for hospital and laboratory staff on safe and efficient equipment operation.
  • Ensure excellent post-sales support through timely maintenance, follow-ups, and customer satisfaction checks.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, sciences, Business or related field.

Experience:

  • 3–7 years relevant experience in biomedical equipment and sales, business development or medical equipment distribution.
  • Experience in preparing technical proposals, quotations and bid documents.
  • Exposure to equipment installation coordination, maintenance follow-up and after sales service management.
  • Familiarity with healthcare industry trends, procurement processes and key decision makers in the health sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage equipment inventory, maintenance documentation, and audit compliance.
