Abia State Government has said it will procure a mobile laboratory and medical theatre in a bid to contain COVID-19 in the state. The Commissioner for Information, Chief John Kalu, said the laboratory and theatre would support the testing laboratories in the 17 councils in the state.
He also told The Guardian yesterday that the state government had decided to convert the State Road Maintenance Agency (ABROMA) into a limited liability company to bid for and execute road maintenance and construction jobs independent of the state government funding.
According to him, a committee headed by the Secretary to the State Government, Chris Ezem, is to oversee the transmutation. He said road maintenance committees in all the 17 councils would be set up
According to Kalu, a new company was also engaged to execute the Ohafia Golf Course project with the mandate to complete the first phase in December.
