Team Purpose

  • The Clinical services Unit (CSU) is the main services delivery unit of the organization and responsible for the delivery of both quantitative and qualitative key program performance targets.
  • The unit Contributes to health system strengthening through provision of systematic and purposeful knowledge and skill transfer to supported facility’s health workers through a structured and effective engagement.
  • Relevant skills and knowledge are aligned with the organizational and grant’s goal of building people and sustainable systems through learning.
  • This unit prepare all intended beneficiaries through the adapting of the organizational learning culture with a view to developing self-confidence, creative, system thinking, communications and feedback skills in program implementation.
  • In collaboration with prevention and priority population unit, the CSU reviews and analyzes sites performance, identify implementation bottle necks and provide structured approaches to improve performance as well as recommends possible solutions to mitigate services disruptions.

Job Description

  • The incumbent will be responsible for the provision of quality assurance/ improvement focused technical assistance and serve as subject matter expertise regarding process improvement initiatives across treatment, care & support and formation and management of various models of differentiated care for PLHIV including the linkage of Community ART groups.
  • The incumbent will be a key member of the state technical team and will plan, manage and Implement comprehensive ART service packages which include; (Adherence support, to ensure retention in care and treatment, viral load cascade management, TB case detection amongst PLHIV and basic care and support for age groups and sub populations and support the implementation of the surge strategies.
  • Provides direct technical assistance to health care facilities supported by CIHP in the state.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support states in the Viral load value chain management
  • Support ART treatment for special populations-KPs, Standalone DOTS sites & YWC
  • Drive, support activities, strategies and plans geared towards the optimization of Viral load testing, coverage, and demand creation across CIHP supported states and facilities.
  • Provided leadership for the implementation of integrated NCD -Cervical Cancer, HPT, DM and – COVID-19 and TB
  • Drive, support activities, strategies and plans geared towards achieving Viral load Suppression and optimize TLD transitioning among clients across CIHP supported states and facilities.
  • Support activities, plan, and strategies for the full integration of U=U into the comprehensive HIV service delivery across CIHP supported facilities.
  • To support activities, strategies and plans to optimize the implementation and operationalization of the various differentiated service delivery models across CIHP supported facilities.

 

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medicine, Public Health or a related field; or a Master's or equivalent in Public Health or related fields will be an added advantage
  • At least 5 years’ post NYSC experience in developing country health care programs or program support function
  • Knowledge of the policies, regulations, reporting formats, and cultures of principal donors, including USAID, EC, DFID, CDC/PEPFAR, and others
  • Extensive clinical experience in care and treatment of HIV/AIDS patients
  • Demonstrated experience in non-profit sector in a program management role
  • Strong supervisory and management skills;
  • Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills and ability to foresee problems and initiate appropriate action.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent team player with good inter personal skills.
