We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Consultant Ophthalmologist

Location: Warri, Delta

Job Role

  • This role is responsible for clinical, managerial, financial aspects and clinical governance of the department. You will provide deliver specialized eye care and expert ophthalmic advice.
  • We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ophthalmologist to join our prestigious practice.

What will you be doing

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose eye conditions, and prescribe appropriate treatment plans.
  • Perform surgeries including cataract removal, LASIK, corneal transplants, and other specialized procedures as needed.
  • Provide expert consultations to patients, offering guidance on eye health, surgical options, and potential treatment plans.
  • Collaborate effectively with our multidisciplinary team including optometrists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Stay updated on advancements in ophthalmology, attend conferences, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the practice.

Must-Have Skills

  • Minimum academic qualification of a Fellowship degree at either West African College of Surgeons or National Postgraduate Medical College or relevant qualification.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience preferably in the Health sector.
  • Medical degree from an accredited institution and completion of a residency program in Ophthalmology.
  • Member of Ophthalmology Society of Nigeria both local and national.
  • Proficiency in utilizing advanced ophthalmic equipment and surgical techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Good to Have Skills:

  • Outstanding communication (oral and written), interpersonal and people management skills.
  • Possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office package.
