Job Title: ENT Consultant

Location: Lagos

Role Description

  • This is a full-time on-site role for an ENT Consultant at Reddington Hospital located in Lagos.
  • The ENT Consultant will be responsible for providing medical and surgical care to patients with ear, nose, throat, and related conditions.
  • The ENT Consultant will also conduct patient consultations, diagnose illnesses, and offer treatment recommendations.
  • The ENT Consultant will also be responsible for advising on preventative measures and maintaining accurate patient records.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough medical assessments and examinations of patients with ear, nose, and throat issues.
  • Diagnose and treat various ENT conditions, including infections, tumors, congenital disorders, and functional abnormalities.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Perform surgical interventions, including but not limited to tonsillectomies, adenoidectomies, septoplasties, and various ear surgeries.
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians, radiologists, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
  • Empower patients to actively participate in their healthcare and make informed decisions.
  • Participate in continuous medical education to stay abreast of new developments and best practices.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the department or healthcare facility.
  • Respond to emergency situations, especially those related to acute ENT conditions.
  • Collaborate with emergency medicine teams to provide timely and effective care
  • Engage in research activities to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field.

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree
  • Specialization in Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat)
  • Fellow West African College of Surgeons (FWACS)
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience
  • Excellent diagnostic skills and ability to interpret diagnostic tests
  • Strong surgical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle a large volume of patients
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to empathize with patients and their families
  • Proficient in medical record-keeping and documentation
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
