Admission Into Postgraduate Degree Programmed in the College of Medicine For the 2023/2024 Academic Session

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following Postgraduate degree programs (Full-Time and Part-Time) in the College of Medicine of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti(EKSU), for the 2023/2024 Academic Session

2. Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences

Ph.D. in Laboratory Medicine with Specialization in:

• Anatomic Pathology
• Forensic Pathology
• Medical Microbiology
• Chemical Pathology
• Haematology and Blood Transfusion
• Medical Parasitology

Admission Requirements

All applicants seeking admission into any of the programs must:

a. Have five (5) Credit passes at "O" Level in relevant subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at not more than two sittings

b. Posses at least one of the following:

• Part 1 Fellowship/Membership of either the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) West African Postgraduate Medical College (WAPMC) or the West African College of Surgeons (WACS)
• M.Sc. in the relevant field with a CGPA of 3.50 (or 4.00 in some Universities) and above on a scale of 5.00 or a CGPA of 5.00 on a scale of 7.00 or a weighted score of 60.00.
• Full Fellowship of either the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN), West African Postgraduate Medical College (WAPMC), West African College of Surgeons (WACS), or other recognized equivalent Fellowship.

Candidates may be required to undergo a screening exercise to assess their suitability for postgraduate studies

Credentials

Photocopies of the NYSC Discharge/Exemption/Exclusion Certificate and photocopies of all credentials including Ordinary Level or its equivalents must be attached to the completed application forms. Candidates must as well arrange for the academic transcripts to be sent directly to the secretary, College of Postgraduate Studies, Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria. Failure to receive the academic transcript on time is to the detriment of the applicant.

Duration of Programmes

• The Ph.D. program shall run for a minimum of six (6) semesters (Full-Time) and eight (8) semesters (Part-Time) for holders of part 1/Membership/Master degree in relevant areas
• For holders of full Fellowship of the NPMCN, WAPMC, WACS, or its equivalent, the PhD program is fully research-based with a minimum duration of four(4) Semesters for full-time and six (6) semesters for part-time.

• Log on to: eksuportal.eksu.edu.ng
• Click on EKSU ADMISSION
• Create a profile by inputting your Surname, First Name, Other Name, and valid Email Address
• Select/Search for Ph.D. in Clinical Sciences and click on "Apply"
• On the Amount payable, click on "Pay now"
• Supply your ATM card information if you are paying using the card method. Submit and proceed with your Application.
