Ex-NMA Chair, LG Boss Die Of COVID-19

A former chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association in Ondo State in Ondo State,  Dr Michael Adeyeri died of COVID-19 infection on Thursday. It was gathered that the medical doctor passed away in his private hospital at the Alagbaka area of Akure, the state capital.

The Chairman of the NMA, Dr Wale Oke, confirmed the incident to journalists on Thursday The death of the medical consultant came barely one week that the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Wahab Adegbenro died of the virus.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Health in Plateau State, Dr Nimkong Lar, on Thursday confirmed that the late chairman of the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of the state, Mr Ezekiel Mandyau, died of COVID-19 complications.

Lar said the result of the conducted on the former council chairman after his demise confirmed him positive for the virus. The commissioner said, “We conducted a test after his demise and when the result came out, it was positive. That is what happened, and we have already communicated the test results to the family.”

The council chairman died at the Jos University Teaching Hospital last Thursday at the age of 52. His demise was earlier confirmed by the Leader of Barkin Ladi Legislative Council, Mr Pam Dung.
