About the Job

  • We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy operations.
  • The successful candidate will assist the pharmacist in dispensing medications, managing inventory, counselling patients on proper drug use, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • The role requires accuracy, good communication skills, and a strong sense of responsibility in handling medicines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in preparing, packaging, and dispensing prescription and over-the-counter medications.
  • Verify prescriptions for accuracy and completeness before processing.
  • Provide basic medication counselling to patients under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications and supplies.
  • Label medications with correct dosage instructions and usage warnings.
  • Maintain accurate patient medication records and update them as required.
  • Monitor drug storage conditions to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Assist with billing, processing payments, and maintaining daily sales records.
  • Support the pharmacist in ensuring regulatory compliance with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) and other relevant authorities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the pharmacy environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Pharmacy Technician Certificate from an accredited institution.
  • Certification: Current license/registration with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a hospital pharmacy.
  • Knowledge of drug names, dosage forms, and basic pharmacology.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Ability to work under supervision and as part of a healthcare team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with pharmacy management software or POS systems.
  • Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and controlled drug handling.
  • Customer service skills with a patient-centered approach.
