The Postgraduate School, Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) invites applications from suitable qualified candidates for consideration for admission into the underlisted Diploma, Masters and Doctorate Degree programmes for the 2020/2021 session under Regular, Part Time, Centre for Continuing Education (Weekend), Institute of Women/Gender and Development Studies (IWoGDS), Institute of Erosion Studies (IES) and Public Procurement Research Centre (PPRC). 

Any interested candidate should pay a non-refundable fee of Eleven Thousand, Three Hundred Naira (N11,300.00) only at any of the Deposit Money Banks (DMB) through the Remita Gateway on the Postgraduate application platform and then complete the online application at www.futo.edu.ng

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS 

All candidates applying for any of the following postgraduate programmes must satisfy the basic matriculation requirements including O'Level Credit Passes in English Language and Mathematics and any other related subjects as required by the Department. 

POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA (PGD) 

1. Higher National Diploma (HND) Lower Credit and above, or 
2. Bachelors Degree in the relevant discipline from FUTO or any other recognized University with at least a Third Class Honours, or
3. A good Bachelors Degree with at least Second Class Honours in other related disciplines.

MASTER: M.Sc., M.Eng and MPH 

1. A Bachelors Degree with at least Second Class Honours (Lower Division) qualification in the related area from FUTO or from any other recognized University. 
2. A Bachelors degree from a recognized University plus a PGD of not less than 2.50 CGPA on a 5-point scale and a 2.50 CGPA on a 4-point scale in the relevant area. 

However, for M.Sc in Financial Management Technology and Management Technology candidates must possess O'Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two subjects from Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science, and Geography.

DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (Ph.D) 

Candidates applying for the Ph.D progrmame must possess any of the following in addition to O'Level Credit Passes in English and Mathematics and satisfying the basic matriculation requirements of the Department/Institute: 

1. A Master's degree with a CGPA of 3.50 on a5.00 point scale or 2.50 on a 4.00 point scale or its equivalent in the relevant areas from FUTO or any recognized University. 
2. Any other qualification as the University Senate may from time to time recognize/approve. 

DURATION OF PROGRAMMES 

i. Ph.D Programmes: A minimum of six (6) semesters and a maximum of ten (10) semesters for full-time, and minimum of eight (8) semesters and a maximum of fourteen (14) semesters for part-time students. 

ii. M.Sc, M.Eng, MPH and MBA Programmes: A minimum of three (3) semesters and a maximum of six (6) semesters for full-time, and minimum of four (4) semesters and a maximum of eight (8) semesters for part-time students.

iii. PGD Programmes: A minimum of two (2) semesters and a maximum of four (4) semesters for full-time and minimum of four (4) semesters and a maximum of six (6) semesters for part-time students. 

iv. Postgraduate (Weekend) Programmes: 

1. PGD Programmes: A minimum of four (4) semesters and a maximum of eight (8) semesters. 
2. MBA Programmes: A minimum of eight (8) semesters and a maximum of twelve (12) semesters. 

NOTE: Candidates with Bachelor or Master's degree in Education (B.Ed and M.Ed) need not apply.

DOCUMENTS TO UPLOAD TO THE PG SCHOOL PORTAL 

Candidates should upload the following relevant documents in support of their application online. 

1. Higher National Diploma (HND) Certificate/Statement of Result 
2. ii. University Degree Certificates/Statement of Result 
3. NYSC Discharge Certificate/Exemption Letter 
4. "0" Level Result 

SUBMISSION OF ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPT 

All applications must forward their transcript to reach the Deputy Registrar/Secretary, Postgraduate School, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria not later than Monday 22nd March, 2021. 

Please note that any application without academic transcript will not be considered for admission.

CLOSING DATE:

The website will close on Monday 22nd February, 2021 and all submission of documents as in E above will close same day. All successful candidates will be notified via email/SMS.
