Job Title: General Surgeon

Locations: Lagos and Ogun

Position Summary

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Surgeon to join our surgical team at Redeemers Health Village.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert surgical care to patients requiring general surgical interventions.
  • The role entails performing a wide range of surgical procedures, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the continuous improvement of surgical services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of general surgical procedures, including but not limited to appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, bowel resection, and soft tissue surgeries.
  • Conduct preoperative assessments, patient consultations, and surgical planning to ensure optimal surgical outcomes and patient safety.
  • Utilize advanced surgical techniques and technologies to perform minimally invasive and open surgeries with precision and proficiency.
  • Manage perioperative care, including postoperative monitoring, wound care, pain management, and discharge planning, in collaboration with nursing and anaesthesia teams.
  • Participate in on-call schedules and emergency surgical interventions as required to provide timely and efficient surgical care to patients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including anesthesiologists, nurses, surgical technicians, and allied health staff, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Engage in clinical teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, and junior surgical staff as part of academic and training activities.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, surgical audits, and research projects to enhance surgical outcomes and patient safety.

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree from a recognized institution
  • Board certification in General Surgery or equivalent qualification.
  • Valid medical license to practice in Nigeria.
  • Fellowship training or extensive experience in general surgery practice.
