The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) has donated facemasks, sanitisers, hand gloves and other personal protective equipment (PPEs) worth N10 million naira to the Federal Government to assist the frontline workers fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
Presenting the items to chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha in Abuja, the primate of the church, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba, observed that the health personnel were playing a critical role to contain the disease, hence the need to give them maximum support.
The cleric disclosed that some dioceses of the church in other states had also distributed food items to Nigerians as part of their contribution to cushion the effects of the scourge. Responding, Mustapha commended the religious institution for the gesture. He enjoined others to emulate the move.
