A Group, Fontana Society, is set to unveil the first medical emergency health card in Nigeria.
The unveiling will take place on November 21, 2023 at the CIAPS Auditorium, Ikeja, Lagos.
According to the Society, the Fontana health card is designed to help card holders pay for emergency treatments, medications, tests and examinations, as well as required allied services, and the card can be used by card holders or anyone of their choice.
The card, it said, was its initiative conceived with the aim of promoting and supporting graduates, professionals and businesses.
The unveiling has been designed as a town hall meeting that will bring together healthcare providers from hospitals, pharmacies and laboratories, as well as existing and new Fontana health card holders and other stakeholders to discuss health cover and how it can help them provide and access quality healthcare in the country.
President of Fontana Society, Prof. Anthony Kila, who spoke on the initiative, said: “Fontana Health Card is a milestone in the health sector as it allows users and providers to overcome challenges that they meet in the process of accessing and providing quality emergency healthcare.”
The renowned professor of Strategy and Development commended the hospitals, pharmacies, diagnostic centres and other healthcare providers that were swift to understand the vision and able to meet the required standards to participate in the programme.
