INTRODUCTION 

lbom Specialist Hospital (ISM) is an emerging player in the high-end healthcare sector in Nigeria and is seeking to hire enthusiastic and goal-driven management cadre staff and medical consultants to run its well-equipped hospital facility. It is the flagship hospital of Akwa Ibom State Government located in the South-South region of Nigeria. 

Though government owned, the new management shall be expected to work profitably and sustainably Independent of, and without encumbrances of, government. To this end, applications are hereby Invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacancies: 

  1. Chief Medical Director 
  2. Director of Clinical Services and Training 
  3. Director of Administration 
  4. Medical Consultants in the following fields: 
  • Anaesthesia/ Intensivist 
  • Surgery 

i. General Surgery 

ii. Orthopaedic Surgery 

iii. Neurosurgery 

iv. Cardiothoracic Surgery 

  •  Internal Medicine 
  1. Cardiologist 
  2. Nephrologist 
  3. Endocrinologist 
  • Family Medicine 
  • Paediatrics
  • Radiology
  • Obstetrics and Gynaecology

A. CHIEF MEDICAL DIRECTOR 

Requirements

Interested persons shalt possess the following minimum’ qualification / requirements:

  • Basic Medical Degree of MBBS, MBBCh or equivalent registrable with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
  • Be registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and possess a current practicing license.
  • Be at least 15 years post-graduation.
  • Be a Fellow of either the National Post-Graduate Medical College of Nigeria or West African Post-Graduate College or equivalent, registrable by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years experience as a Consultant.
  • Applicant must not be more than 60 years of age.
  • Applicant should be a person of proven integrity with adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Applicant must have a good knowledge of, and be versatile in, Information Communication Technology (ICT).
  • Additional qualification in any of the following: Hospital management, Personnel management, Financial management or business management would be an added advantage
  • Cognate experience in the successful management of a hospital of similar standard or management of a standard and Large private corporation would also be an added advantage.

Remuneration

This shall include an accommodation, official vehicle and a monthly gross salary of three million naira only. Other packages are negotiable

B. DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL SERVICES AND TRAINING 

Minimum Requirements

Interested persons should possess the following minimum qualification / requirements:

  • Basic Medical Degree of MBBS, MBBCh or equivalent registrable with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
  • Be registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and possess a current practicing license.
  • Be at least 12 years post-graduation.
  • Be a Fellow of either the National Post-Graduate Medical College of Nigeria or West African Post-Graduate College or equivalent registrable by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience as a Consultant.
  • Applicant must not be more than 60 years of age.
  • Applicant should be a person of proven integrity with adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Applicant must have a good knowledge of, and be versatile in, Information Communication Technology (ICT).
  • Additional qualification in any of the following: Hospital management, Personnel management, Financial management or business management would be an added advantage
  • Cognate experience in the successful management of clinical services in a hospital of similar standard or management of a standard and large private corporation would also be an added advantage.

Remuneration

This includes an accommodation and utility vehicle. Salary for this post is very attractive and negotiable but shall generally follow that of the medical consultants.

C. DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATION 

Minimum Requirements

Interested persons should possess the following qualification / requirements:

  • Must be a holder of good B.Sc. Degree from any recognized institution in any of the disciplines: Hospital / Health Services Management, Humanities or Social Science.
  • Must have at (east 15 years cognate experience with the last 3 to 5 in a similar position.
  • Must be acquainted with administrative duties and techniques of Personnel Management, experience in hospital’ environment would be an added advantage.
  • Membership of a professional body: Fellow or Associate of the Institute of Health Service Administrators of Nigeria (IHSAN), Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) or any other relevant professional certificate is an added advantage.
  • Must have been on at (east salary grade level 15 and above (Directorate level) in previous employment
  • Must have a sound mind with proven integrity Must not be more than 55 years of age
  • Must have a good public relation attribute
  • An applicant must have a good knowledge of, and be versatile in, Information and Communications Technology

Remuneration

Salary for this post is very attractive and negotiable.

D. MEDICAL CONSULTANTS 

Requirements

Interested persons shall possess the following minimum qualification / requirements:

  • Basic Medical Degree of MBBS, MBBCh or equivalent registrable with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)
  • Be registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and possess a current practicing license.
  • Be a Fellow of either the National Post-Graduate Medical College of Nigeria or West African Post-Graduate College or equivalent in their respective fields, registrabLe by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Consultant. Applicant should be a person of proven integrity with adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Applicant must have a good knowledge of, and be versatile in, Information Communication Technology (ICT). Additional qualification and sub-specialization would be an added advantage

Remuneration

This shall include accommodation and a utility vehicle. The gross monthly salary for this post shall range from one to two million naira depending on years of qualification.
