The Governing Council of the Federal University Otuoke, at its 28th Regular Meeting held on Monday, 16th February, 2026, approved placing an advertisement for the recruitment of staff into various Departments and Faculties of the University.

The recruitment aims to fill existing vacancies in the University in line with the approved recruitment quota for the 2025 recruitment exercise and to strengthen the University's academic and administrative manpower.

Consequently, applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified and interested candidates for appointment to the following vacant positions in the underlisted Faculties, Departments and fields:

A. FACULTY OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES

2. ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 5), Reader CONUASS 6 & Professor (CONUASS 7)

• Candidates must possess good B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees or equivalent, from a recognised University. The minimum number of years for teaching and research experience in an approved tertiary institution, a good record of scholarly publications in reputable journals, demonstrable ability to initiate, develop and supervise research projects; and other requirements are as applicable in the Federal University Otuoke, Rules & Regulations Governing Conditions of Service of Senior Staff 2023.

Chief Legal Officer (CONTISS 14)

• Candidates must possess five credit passes in O'level subjects, including Mathematics and English Language, L.L.B., BL and NYSC Discharge or exemption, plus a minimum of 15 years post NYSC and other requirements in the Federal University Otuoke, Rules & Regulations Governing Conditions of Service of Senior Staff 2023.

Deputy Director Public Relations (CONTISS 14)

• Candidates must possess five credit passes in O'level subjects including Mathematics and English Language, Honours Degree from a recognised University in Mass Communication, English Studies or other relevant field in the Humanities or Social Sciences plus NYSC Discharge or exemption, Membership of NIPR, plus a minimum of 18 years' cognate experience and other requirements in the Federal University Otuoke, Rules & Regulation Governing Conditions of Service of Senior Staff 2023.
• (For professional fields, relativity at entry shall apply in determining duration of experience. Candidates for these professions must provide evidence of professional registration and practice license).
