THE Joint Health Sector Union has urged the Federal Government to honour the agreement it had with the union on the outstanding welfare packages for its members.
The union, in a letter dated August 14, 2020, addressed to the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, said it was worrisome that some of the demands of JOHESU had been treated with levity for almost a decade by the Federal Government.
The letter, which was made available to our correspondent on Tuesday, was signed by the acting National Secretary of JOHESU, Mr Matthew Ajorotu.
“JOHESU specifically demands that the Federal Ministry of Health be compelled to immediately set up the reflected structures in line with the National Industrial Court of Nigeria judgment; staff audit committee, including members of JOHESU, to critically examine concerns of understaffing and irregular employment affecting members of JOHESU,” the letter reads in part.
