We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Junior Doctor

Location: Island, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• The Junior Doctor provides clinical support in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care under the supervision of senior medical staff.
• The role involves delivering high-quality medical services, managing routine clinical duties, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties:

• Conduct patient consultations, history taking, examinations, and preliminary diagnosis.
• Assist senior doctors in managing patient care plans.
• Order and interpret basic diagnostic tests (lab, imaging, etc.).
• Provide treatment based on established clinical guidelines and escalate complex cases.
• Participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, emergency duties, and on-call rotations.
• Administer medications, injections, wound care, and minor procedures as required.

Patient Care & Communication:

• Ensure proper patient education on treatment plans and follow-up requirements.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Promote a patient-centered approach in all interactions.

Medical Support & Coordination:

• Work closely with nurses, pharmacists, lab scientists, and other clinicians.
• Refer patients appropriately for specialist care when needed.
• Support emergency response and triage activities.

Compliance & Quality Assurance:

• Adhere to medical protocols, hospital policies, and ethical standards.
• Participate in clinical audits, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure infection control and safety standards are strictly followed.

Continuous Learning:

• Stay updated with current medical practices and emerging healthcare trends.

 

Qualification& Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Medicine or any related role
• 3 – 4 years post-qualification clinical experience (including housemanship).
• Valid medical license or relevant body.
• Basic life support (BLS) or Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is an added advantage.
