About 100 Primary Health Care facilities in Kebbi State will soon be accredited for the commencement of the state’s contributory health scheme. The state Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Jafaar Muhammad, stated that the scheme would be under the umbrella of the Kebbi Contributory Health Care Management Agency.
Speaking with journalists shortly after a meeting with employees of the KECHEMA and the NHIS in Birnin Kebbi, Muhammad said the exercise would benefit a lot of people in the state.
“The KECHEMA will partner the NHIS in accrediting facilities towards ensuring universal health care coverage of all people in the state,” the commissioner stated. Earlier, the Executive Secretary, KECHEMA, Dr Jafar Augie, explained that the exercise would help in achieving functional state health insurance scheme.
