Kogi State Government, in conjunction with National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), is set to immunise about 1.6 million children against measles and meningitis across the state.
The Executive Director, Kogi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Abubakar Yakubu, disclosed this yesterday during a press briefing on the Kogi measles and meningitis vaccination campaign expected to begin today.
He noted that 866,328 children within nine and 59 months of age would be immunised against measles, while 815,368 children within one and five years would be immunise against meningitis.
According to Yakubu, the campaign aims at reducing measles transmission in the country and attain measles elimination goal of 2028.
