Job Title: Laboratory Assistant

Location: GRA, Lagos

Level: Entry Level

Responsibilities

• Preparation of laboratory practical, including set-up and breakdown as per teachers’ instruction, testing such labs and equipment beforehand so as to ensure a successful learning experience
• Maintenance, cleaning, and storage of equipment
• Safe storage and removal of harmful chemicals and equipment
• Ensure adequate supply of equipment and materials is always available
• Keep track of materials borrowed by teachers and students
• Assisting the teacher in supervision of laboratory practical when needed
• Support for teachers and other faculty where needed, always keeping the best interests of the students in mind
• Perform laboratory tests including pre- and post-analytic phases
• Prepare samples/specimens
• Produce accurate and reliable data and interpret results
• Follow methodologies in carrying routine tasks
• Research relevant topics and gather information/data
• Adhere to correct procedures, policies and health/safety guidelines
• Document all activities, record results and insert/retrieve data.

Requirements

• OND, HND / B.Sc in Science Lab Technology / Biology or related field
• Proven working experience as a Lab Assistant
• Familiarity with automated laboratory equipment
• Computer literacy and experience with Laboratory Information Systems
• Accuracy and close attention to detail
• Strong analytical judgement
• Current licence or relevant certification.

Salary

N80,000 - N120,000 monthly.
