Job Title: Laboratory Scientist

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Field: Diagnostics / Laboratory

Reports To: Head of Medicals

Job Overview and Duties

• Receive urine, blood or other samples for experimentation and analysis
• Prepare standard volumetric solutions or reagents to be combined with specimens
• Manage and effectively operate laboratory equipment
• Test and study blood, urine and other body fluids
• Evaluate test results and prepare reports for physicians
• Maintain laboratory quality assurance and safety standards
• Cross-match blood for transfusion
• Guide and supervise junior staff and technicians
• Cleaning, maintaining, and calibrating laboratory equipment used in the drawing and testing of blood specimens.
• Ordering laboratory supplies, as needed.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, MLA / MLS / MLT
• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years of work experience as a lab Scientist.
• Medical laboratory scientists are required to be registered with the medical sciences council of Nigeria
• Good judgment and decision making skills
• Current Practicing license with MLSCN
• Exceptional Knowledge of Microsoft office suits
• Experience in Health sector as a Phlebotomist
• Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.
