MCPDP For Nurses and Midwives To Resume Across The States Following Review

MANDATORY CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (MCPDP) 

Please, refer to the Nursing and Midwife, Council of Nigeria, circular No. NMCN/EDU/C1R/44/VOL.1/88 on the above dated 25. June, 2020 putting on hold the conduct of MCPDP in the States due to COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. 

Following the review of the COVID-19 guidelines by the Federal Government of Nigeria and subsequent increase in the number for mass gathering to be limited to 50 persons in an enclosed space, the Nursing and Midwife, Council of Nigeria advises that the State MCPDP Implementation Committees should resume conduct of MCPDP in the 36 States and FCT. 

However, there must be strict compliance to the Federal Government guidelines on gatherings, physical distancing and hygiene to minimise risk to all. You must ensure the following: 

1. Not more than fifty (50) persons in a hall. 

2. Temperature check at the entrance to the venue daily. 

3. Distance of not less than 2meters between people at all times. 

4. Use of face mask for all attendees, resource persons and service providers. 

5. Handwashing water at strategic places including entrance and exit to the venue. 

6. Hand sanitizers at strategic places including entrance and exit to the venue. 

7. Observe all other Nursing and Midwife, Council of Nigeria extant rules and regulations on conduct of MCPDP. 

8. Please bring the content of this circular to all concerned and ensure strict compliance.
