Job Description
- We are seeking a qualified, experienced, and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our laboratory team at the Agbara branch.
- We are committed to delivering accurate, timely, and reliable diagnostic services to support excellent patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of laboratory tests in Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, and Histopathology.
- Collect, process, and analyze patient samples (blood, urine, body fluids, etc.) with strict adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning.
- Interpret test results, prepare accurate reports, and ensure timely delivery of results to clinicians.
- Implement and maintain strict quality control and quality assurance protocols.
- Maintain proper documentation and records of all laboratory activities.
- Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, infection control, and biohazard waste management.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to support accurate diagnosis and patient management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) Degree from a recognized institution.
- Valid practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate (completed).
- Minimum of 2 years post-NYSC experience in a reputable medical laboratory or hospital.
- Experience in a multi-specialty hospital or diagnostic center will be an added advantage.
Requirements & Skills:
- Valid practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- Excellent knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Good computer literacy and proficiency in laboratory information systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and continuous professional development.
