Job Title: Medical Records Officer

Job Summary

We are seeking detail-oriented and professional Medical Records Officers to manage and maintain accurate patient records while ensuring smooth hospital operations.  

The ideal candidates should be organised, reliable, pay attention to detail, and able to follow structured processes with professionalism and precision.

 

Job Description

  • Organize, update, and maintain patient records with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ensure proper filing and retrieval of medical records for seamless hospital operations.
  • Handle patient registration, data entry, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure records are accessible when needed.
  • Prepare reports and medical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and medical record-keeping standards.
  • Serve as an HMO Desk Officer, including:
  • Verifying patients’ HMO eligibility before services are rendered.
  • Ensuring proper documentation and filing of HMO patients’ records.
  • Liaising with HMOs regarding patient approvals and billing matters.
  • Ensuring correct application of HMO tariffs and processing claims.
  • Following up on pending approvals and resolving HMO-related issues.

 

Requirements

  • OND/HND/BSc in Health Information Management, Medical Records, or any related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a hospital or medical facility is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to take instructions and execute them flawlessly.
  • Respect for authority and adherence to workplace structure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in medical records software, data entry, and document management systems.
  • Must reside in Benin city. Applications from outside this location will not be considered.

 

Salary

N70,000 Monthly.
