Job Title: Microbiologist

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Microbiologist to join our team on Victoria Island. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting microbiological tests, analyzing samples, maintaining laboratory standards, and supporting quality control processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, prepare, and analyze microbiological samples (water, food, pharmaceutical, clinical, or environmental, as applicable)
  • Perform microbial identification, culturing, staining, and sensitivity testing
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration and cleanliness
  • Record, interpret, and report test results accurately and promptly
  • Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards (e.g., NAFDAC, SON, ISO)
  • Prepare reagents, media, and maintain stock of laboratory consumables
  • Support research, product development, or quality assurance activities as required
  • Maintain proper documentation and laboratory records.

Requirements

  • B.Sc./HND in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, or related field (M.Sc. is an added advantage)
  • 1-3 years relevant laboratory experience
  • Proficiency in aseptic techniques, microbial analysis, and lab safety protocols
  • Familiarity with standard lab equipment (microscope, autoclave, incubator, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and record-keeping ability
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Salary

N100,000 - N150,000 per month.
