Job Summary
- This role is responsible for the implementation of COVID-19 activities and maintaining collaborative links with the key COVID-19 stakeholders.
- The postholder designs, plans, and provides technical guidance on COVID-19 activities in the project area.
- In coordination with relevant departments and key stakeholders, ensure efficient and effective communication in the implementation of the COVID-19 activities.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities
- Support implementation of COVID-19 activities in collaboration with the local authorities and Public Emergency Operations Centre (EOC)
- Assist in providing training to volunteers related to contact tracing, health and safety protocols, and other COVID-19 response related procedures.
- Support communities and individuals to be safe, healthy, and independent whilst also supporting the ministry of health by delivering a range of Covid-19 prevention and enforcement measures.
- Assist Covid-19 surveillance data analysis, undertaking a range of Covid-19 prevention project work, providing advice to organization and residents both remotely and during visits.
- To provide data analysis, communications, and case management support to the Environmental Health Team about Covid-19 prevention projects, local contact tracing, Covid-19 outbreak management, Covid-19 complaints and other workstreams as required.
- To assist in the effective implementation of policies and procedures. This includes ensuring public protection against risks to their health and harm from Covid-19.
- Work closely with the Environmental Health Team to develop systems, procedures, and project work in compliance with relevant codes of practice, approved guidance, and corporate policies.
- Work closely with teams and management to progress key areas of Covid-19 regulation and guidance, particularly nurturing links with our Environmental Health, Communication and Communities Team’s.
- Develop and maintain a good understanding of all functions undertaken by the service.
- To work in an internal and external partners related way that promotes innovation.
- To embed a collaborative, flexible and learning approach in the use of people and resources to actively develop partnerships, opportunities, and new ways of working.
- To represent the Core Group Partners Project (CGPP) as required at local, and regional meetings and forums, and working groups as directed.
- Assist in development, maintenance, and analysis of COVID-19 data and systems as required.
- Manage documentation of all COVID-19 activities.
- Manage COVID-19 response activities, as needed, engaging stakeholders to address the ever-changing responses.
- Monitor and support state COVID-19 preparedness activities, protocols, and responses as needed.
- Assist in preparing and submitting timely and quality activity reports, including field notes and success stories, to effectively capture lessons learnt on the ground from the projects.
- Provide administrative support as needed.
- Conduct other tasks to support the project activities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Typically, a Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences, Public Health, or any other relevant discipline of study. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
- Minimum of Two (2) years’ public health or other relevant experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, and organizational skills; - and- ability to influence and facilitate advocacy agendas.
- Understanding of local communities and cultures in the relevant states of operations and ability to communicate fluently in Hausa.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to travel and work in difficult settings, including remote rural areas.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, or similar software.
- Well-organized, with ability to track multiple activities and deadlines.
- Experience in providing administrative support to work teams.
- Ability to work successfully in cross-cultural, team-based environment.
Additional Technical or Language Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of public health principles, particularly in disease surveillance and field epidemiology.
- Familiarity with Nigeria’s public health systems and disease surveillance frameworks, including Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR). • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting tools, such as DHIS2 and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and under minimal supervision.
- Ability to travel in Nigeria minimum of 25%
- Qualifications And Requirements: B.Sc./BA in Public Health, Epidemiology, Medical Sciences, Veterinary medicine or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred with 5-7 years’ experience in public health surveillance, outbreak investigation, or related fields, with at least 2 years’ experience in field epidemiology.
- Demonstrated experience in Diphtheria or other infectious disease surveillance activities.Fluency in English. In addition, ability to speak Hausa will be an added advantage.
- At least 3 years addressing animal and human health threats with at least 2 years practical experience in preparedness and response planning and systems.
- Good knowledge of One Health Concepts
- Familiarity with international donor organizations, Nigerian public sector health systems, and non-governmental organizations.
- Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems, international donor organizations, NGOs and CBOs is required.
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to detect and report inconsistencies.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Proficient in Excel and experience with Word and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of financial reporting software is a plus.
