St Nicholas hospital is a large private hospital providing primary, secondary and tertiary medical services for the nation. St Nicholas hospital has been at the forefront of medical care since the present building was finished in March 1968, prior to this it operated from a small bungalow at the present site. At the start of St Nicholas hospital's main emphasis was on Obstetric and Gynacecology. However, over the years it has metamorphosed into a multi-specialist hospital, adopting the best standards, to provide world class quality health care.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Pharmacist

Location: Lagos

Job Responsibilities

• Check prescriptions for appropriateness and proper dosage and also communicating with prescribers in situations where dosage adjustment is required or an alternative is suggested.
• Dispensing of prescribed medication to patients and other health care professionals and advising them on the indications, contra-indications, drug-drug interactions or food drug interactions, side effects and dosage and stating the need for compliance to dosing regimen when necessary.
• Compounding of prescribed drugs by calculating the strength of active pharmaceutical ingredients required, mixing and dissolving in an appropriate vehicle and packaging in containers, when the syrup form of a drug is needed or preferred.
• Maintaining an electronic database of patient drug history, proper inventory of controlled drugs and other pharmaceutical products available in the pharmacy.
• Performing monthly stock taking of pharmaceuticals and audit of records on the inventory management software.

Requirements

• Must have completed NYSC
• Candidate should hold a valid Pharmacist certification and Practice License
• Proficiency in computer usage is required
