Private Practitioners Needed To Fight Pandemic – Ogboye

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Health, Dr Olusegun Ogboye, has said the role of private medical practitioners cannot be underestimated in the fight against COVID-19. Ogboye, while receiving the Personal Protective Equipment donated by the Guild of Medical Directors on Tuesday said the government needs the support of everyone to combat COVID-19.

He said, “No matter how many isolation facilities the government builds, we can never have enough to take care of everybody that is positive in Lagos State. We want a lot of private facilities to come on board. Ogboye also urged residents of the state not to forget that the virus had not been defeated, urging them to keep observing safety precautions.

The Chairman, Guild of Medical Directors, Lagos chapter, Dr Adedapo Morawo, said the gesture was the association’s contribution to the fight against COVID-19 in the state. The items donated by the Guild included coveralls, KN95 masks, hand gloves, face shield and shoe cover.
