We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Production Shift Manager

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Employment Type: Full-time

Reports to: Senior Production Manager

Job Summary

  • The Production Shift Manager oversees production, operations and services in the absence of the Senior Production Manager.
  • The production shift manager will oversee business operations while working along with the employees in a certain shift, delegate tasks to team members, and resolve problems that occur on their shift.

Responsibilities

Safety:

  • Conduct periodic risk assessment, environmental aspects and impact and implement countermeasures
  • Ensure full PPE compliance among associates
  • Ensure injury and accident free workplace
  • Report and investigate all health & safety incidents and accidents
  • Capture and report near misses
  • Ensure good housekeeping practices
  • Ensure solid and liquid wastes are managed effectively to prevent environmental pollution. Promote waste segregation at the workplace and educate subordinates on waste management.
  • Ensure the workplace is kept clean and tidy always.
  • Promote awareness and sustenance of safe work practices
  • Function as an emergency controller in the event of environmental or safety emergency as laid down in the emergency procedure

Maintenance:

  • Ensure production assets are properly maintained to reduce breakdowns and downtime.
  • Evaluate performance of machines, equipment, work tools and establish trends and variances in performance
  • Discuss observations with the Senior Production Manager.
  • Ensure maintenance is carried out according to the maintenance plan and structure.
  • Monitor work equipment upkeep to achieve best maintenance at least possible cost and time.

Product Quality:

  • Ensure product quality is maintained in order to assure consistency and meet the expectation of consumers in a competitive market.
  • Ensure all production operations are carried out in line with the planned SPI - sales production inventory
  • Ensure that all products are produced to the specified specifications
  • Ensure that Target and deadlines are met to achieve the orders.
  • Identify aspects of production standards where improvements are possible and suggest modifications to senior production manager
  • Ensure routine on-line quality controls are carried out by production personnel.

Housekeeping:

  • Ensures good housekeeping to maintain product quality
  • Ensure process cleaning of all lines, equipment and work area.
  • Ensure products in process are wholesome and all access to losses and damages due to infection are checked.

Records and Attendance:

  • Ensure the smooth running of the production process
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
  • Ensure strict adherence to laid down shift system
  • Maintain time and attendance sheets to be filled for and submitted at the end of every shift.

Requirements

  • Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in Biological / Chemical Sciences or Production Engineering
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience.
