The Sokoto State Taskforce on Covid-19 has attributed the low coronavirus-related deaths in the state to its innovative approach of the 3Ts (Trace, Test and Treat). The Commissioner for Health, who doubles as chairman of the task force, Dr Ali Inname, said the approach had been effective.
He said the state’s collaboration with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, World Health Organisation and others had helped in containing the spread of the virus in the state.
He said, “The number of fatalities recorded in the state stands at 14 while the number of pending tests is 10 (as of Sunday).
“As as today (Monday), the number of tests done in the state remains 617, out of which 501 returned negative. Positive cases remain 116, with only 12 active cases, while the total number of people discharged stands at 90.”
