Job Description:

 As part of its numerous health care services, Play Paediatric Consult provides QUICK PHONE  ENQUIRY and TELEMEDICINE consultation to parents of children aged 0-17 years. As a telemedicine paediatrician, you are expected to offer professional consultation services to our clients under the above-mentioned categories.  You will be working remotely, providing prior information about the periods of each day that you are available for consultation.

Under QUICK PHONE ENQUIRY (QPE), a registered client calls you from a pre-registered phone number asking your professional advice on health issues on their child(ren). The discussion should not be more than 5 minutes. Any discussion that is likely to last more than 5 minutes, needs to be done as Telemedicine and must first be booked for via the channels provided by the company. Likewise, any discussion or chat involving sharing of photos, videos or doing video-conferencing falls under Telemedicine consultation and will have to be booked for before proceeding. Any encounter with a client that does not follow the due process will not be reckoned with by the company.

Under TELEMEDICINE consultation, you are required to do a video-conferencing with the client. You will do routine clinical clerkship (but brief) and a remote physical examination (as much as possible through  video-conferencing ) with the aim of making a diagnosis. Electronic prescription is provided to the patient for purchase at a pharmacy of their choice. All telemedicine encounters are to be documented for onward transfer into an electronic medical record. Where a patient’s condition requires further evaluation through an in-person consultation, the patient will be referred to a relevant hospital accessible to the patient.

Requirements:

A suitable candidate for this role of a telemedicine paediatrician must be a consultant paediatrician with MBBS or its equivalent, FWACP or its equivalent, excellent communication skills in English, child-friendly personality, and excellent IT/computer skills. He/She must possess the current MDCN practicing license.

As many paediatricians as possible are needed across the West African countries.

Remuneration:  Remuneration is 75% of consultation fee charged to every patient seen by the paediatrician.
