Thomas Adewumi University Oko, Kwara State, Nigeria was licensed by the National University Commission in February 2021 and commenced in May 2021. The University is established to be a centre of academic excellence committed to achievement of accelerated development through research and manpower development. It seeks to relate its activities to the cultural, technological, social and economic needs of the people of Nigeria. 

As part of its man-power development programme, applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacancies and work under excellent working conditions in a pleasant campus environment. 

The minimum qualifications and experiences specified by the National Universities Commission for all academic positions apply. Strong Computer literacy and ICT proficiency are required for all positions at the University. Intending applicants without these minimum requirements need not apply. 

1. PROFESSORS/ASSOCIATE PROFESSORS 

A Ph.D. Degree in relevant field of Accounting, Biochemistry, Business Administration, Chemistry, Computer Science, Criminology and Security Studies, Economics, Mass Communication, Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, Nursing Science, Physic with Electronics, Physiotherapy and Software Engineering with a minimum of twelve (12) years' experience in full-time teaching and research. 

Qualification: 

(a) Candidate must possess ability to initiate and supervise research projects and have at least 25 significant peer reviewed scholarly publications in reputable National and International outlets out of which at least 35% must have impact factor with membership of relevant professional bodies where applicable. 

(b) Administrative experience will be an advantage. 

(c) Successful applicant must be able to give academic and professional leadership in the field. 

(d) Proficiency in ICT with demonstrable competence is a requirement. 

The applicable salary is competitive and in line with Federal Government of Nigeria Scale of Salary for Academic Staff. 

2. REGISTRAR 

The Registrar for Thomas Adewumi University is the Chief Administrative Officer of the University and shall be responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day-to-day administrative activities of the University. The Registrar shall be Secretary to the Governing Council, Senate, Congregation, Convocation and shall be Custodian of the Seal and other legal documents of the University. 

Qualification: 

(a) Required candidate must be within the age group of 40 to 52years old in January 2022 AND MUST have good honours B.A/B.Ed/B.Sc./B.Tech degree, preferably, Upper Division, in related disciplines from a recognized University with at least 8 years relevant experience. Experience in similar position in a University or other related institution of higher learning shall be an advantage. Also an MBA qualification from reputable institutions with good communication skills would make the prospective applicant stand better chance

(b) Candidates must possess minimum of Eight (8) years relevant post qualification work experience, especially in an important Business Organisation or Tertiary Institution. 

(c) Candidates must be computer literate, with good knowledge of ICT and proficiency in the use of software applications for managing personnel, fixed asset, e-learning resources and marketing, and membership of registered relevant professional bodies. 

(d) Applicants must have occupied the position of at least Assistant Registrar in a University for at least three years or similar Administrative level position in a reputable company 

(e) Evidence of previous performance in relation to processing of admission in a tertiary institution. 

(f) Possession of proven records of leadership/administrative qualities.

(g) Evidence of work experience in private Sector organization where drive and productivity are of considerable importance in a competitive market. 

(h) In addition to the above, applicants with proven management experience in industry and good understanding of internal working system of development partners to secure research grants and other forms of endowments will have additional advantage 

(i) Possession of a Masters Degree in Business Administration and Experience in Private Sector will bean advantage. 

(j) Excellent physical and mental fitness. 

The applicable salary is competitive and in line with Federal Government of Nigeria Scale of Salary for Academic Staff. 

3. UNIVERSITY MEDICAL OFFICER I 

Candidate must possess a good honours degree in Medicine and evidence of registration with the Medical and Dental Council Association of Nigeria (MDCN) with a minimum of three (3) years of post-registration cognate experience. Candidate must be computer literate. The applicable salary is in line with Federal Government of Nigeria CONMESS.

4. CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR 

Candidates must possess Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc) with good honours, Registered Nurse (RN) and current Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) License. Diploma in any other Nursing specializations will be an added advantage. The Clinical Instructor for Midwifery should possess a good honours degree in Bachelor of Nursing Science, Current Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) License and Registered Midwifery (RM) Certificate. 

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 

The appointment, which is to commence as soon as possible, is for a probationary period of ONE year in the first instance and may be confirmed to retiring age. 

Salaries are very attractive and competitive. Other conditions are as contained in the approved Conditions of Service by the Governing Council of Thomas Adewumi University, Oko, Kwara State.
