BASIC REQUIREMENT
- To be eligible for admission to the above program, candidates must have
- Five O'Level credits including English, Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Chemistry
- Bachelor's degree with at least Second Class Lower (2:2) classification in any of the Allied Health Sciences, Biological Science and Biomedical Sciences (e.g., Microbiology, Biochemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing or related fields)
- Candidates with an upper credits pass in the relevant Postgraduate Diploma would also be considered.
- Candidates must be duly registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, except for a Master's degree in sports Nursing that might be considered a Registered Nurse with a BSc (Ed) in sports Education, Sports Sciences, Human Kinetics and Health Education.
- Candidates seeking for admission to study Master of Public Health program will be required to choose an area of concentration.
- All professional Nursing Programs require a Bachelor's degree in Nursing
DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME
- Full-time Doctoral programme shall be for a minimum of 36 months and a maximum of 72 months
- Part-time Doctoral programme shall be for a minimum of 60 months and a maximum of 96 months.
- Full-time studies for the Master's degree programme shall be for a minimum of 21 months and a maximum of 30 months Specifically, Full-time studies for a Master in Community Health (M.Comm.H) shall be for a minimum of 12 months and a maximum of 18 months
- Part-time studies (where justified) shall be for a minimum of 21 months and a maximum of 24 months justification shall be subject to the University of Abuja's extant academic rules.
- Full-time Postgraduate Diploma program shall be for a minimum of 12 months and a maximum of 18 months
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Programmed in
- Public Health

Professional Diploma in Caregiving Course
The program is designed for those who are currently working or intend to work in the caregiving and healthcare sectors. it includes employees in old people homes, correctional services, and Juvenile homes, Health care workers in Hospitals, outpatient clinics rehabilitation centres, and hospices, providers of disability services in early intervention centres, special schools, sheltered workshops, vocational training centres, and disability hostels. it is also for prospective candidates who intend to travel abroad for career progression in health care or caregiving.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- HND/Bachelor/Masters/PhD Degree in any field
- Professional Certificate in Health-related areas
- Not below 25 years of age with a minimum of five O'Level credit passes at no more than two (2) sittings and at least three years of working experience.
