University of Benin Teaching Hospital Advertisement for Admission for 2022/2023 Academic Session

Application are invited rom suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following programmes available at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital Training Schools.

1. SCHOOL OF HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (SHIM) 

SHIM is a Monotechnic (Health Profession) accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN) 

Entry Requirements: 

A. National Diploma Programme (ND) 

i. Prospective candidates must possess minimum of five (5) O' level credit passes at not more than two sittings at WAEC, GCE, NECO OR NABTEB in the following areas: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and any other subject from Physics, Geography, Economics and Government. 

ii. Candidates must have met the 2022/2023 JAMB/UTME national cut-off mark for public Polytechnics and Monotechnics. 

B. Higher National Diploma Programme (HND) 

i. Candidates must possess the National Diploma (ND) certificates in Health Information Management in addition to meeting the requirements stipulated in "Ai" above. 

ii. Technician Certificates in Health Information Management from Schools and Colleges of Health Technology may be considered for admission if such schools have been accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN) and must meet the requirements stated in "Ai" above. 

iii. Candidates must possess certificates or letter of one year Industrial Training (I.T) from a recognized public Health facility. 

Method of Application: 

i. Candidates for National Diploma (ND) are to pay a screening fee of Two Thousand Naira (N2,000.00) only. Candidates who have not chosen the School previously in UTME can go ahead to effect change of institution and course as the case may be after the stipulated screening fees has been paid. 

ii. Candidates for Higher National Diploma (HND) are to pay a non-refundable fee of Six Thousand Naira (N6,000.00) only. All payments should be made into UBTH revenue account through any UBTH pay points. 

Closing Date: 

Completed forms should be returned to the office of the Head of School on or before Wednesday 2Ist September, 2022. 

Post UTME/Screening: 

Date: Saturday 24th September, 2022 

Venue: The School Premises. 

Time: 10:00am Prompt.

2. CENTRE FOR TRAINING COMMUNITY HEALTH OFFICERS (CTCHO), EKPOMA 

The training which lasts for two years will commence in September, 2022. It leads to the award of Higher Diploma in Community Health. 

Entry Requirements: 

Basic educational qualifications

Candidates must possess five credit passes obtained in not more than two sittings in WASCE/GCE/NECO in the following subjects, English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and physics. 

Professional Qualification and Experience: 

Candidates must possess any of the following professional qualifications and experience: 

i. Diploma in Community Health (DCH) with not less than two (2) years post qualification experience. 

ii. Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW) with five (5) years post qualification experience.

Application Guidelines: 

A. Admission forms are obtainable at the office of the Co-ordinator, Centre for Training Community Health Officers, UBTH Benin City, on payment of a non-refundable fee of Ten Thousand Naira (N 10,000.00) only to the UBTH TSA ACCOUNT using the REMITA PLATFORM in any commercial bank. 

B. Deadline for obtaining and submission of completed application form is 1st July, 2022. 

Entrance Examination and Oral Interview: 

Date: 7th July, 2022 

Time: 9:00am prompt 

Venue: Institute of Health Technology, UBTH, Benin City. 

NOTE: Candidates are to bring originals and photocopies of the following to the examination Centre. 

a) Certificate/Master-list 

b) Bank Receipts /evidence of payment of application fee. 

c) Valid or current practice license. 

d) WASSCE/GCEJNECO 

e) CHEW Certificate/Abridged Certificate/DCH Certificate (as applicable). 

f) Evidence of change of name (if applicable).

3. SCHOOL OF POST BASIC NURSING STUDIES 

The School of Post Basic Nursing Studies, UBTH has vacancy in the following Programmes: 

  1. Diploma in Ophthalmic Nursing and Management 
  2. Diploma in Perioperative Nursing and Management 
  3. Diploma in Paediatric Nursing and Management 
  4. Diploma inAccident and Emergency Nursing and Management 

Duration of Course is One (1) year. 

Entry Qualifications: Applicants must: 

A. Possess five (5) credits in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO or GCE O/levels, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry. 

B. Bea qualified nurse duly registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. 

C. Have at least one year post registration clinical experience in the relevant area with sponsorship by an institution or agency. 

Method of Application: 

Admission forms are obtainable from the Office of the Principal / Head, School of Post Basic Nursing Studies, UBTH, on payment of application fee of Ten thousand Naira (N10, 000) or its equivalent in Dollars or Pounds for foreign applicants. 

Note the following: 

a. All payment for the application forms should be made directly into the UBTH Account with TSA under the service type: 'Training School of Post Basic Nursing Studies using REMITA platform in any bank in Nigeria. 

b. Obtaining and submission of forms closes 12th August, 2022. 

c. Candidates will be responsible for their accommodation and feeding during the examination period. 

Entrance Examination for all Programme: 

Entrance examination and oral interview for all programmes is scheduled as follows: 

a. Monday 22ndAugust, 2022 - Perioperative Nursing Programme 

b. Tuesday 23rd August, 2022 - Accident & Emergency Nursing Programme 

c. Wednesday 24th August, 2022 - Paediatric Nursing Programme 

d. Thursday 25th August, 2022 - Ophthalmic Nursing Programme
