University of Medical Sciences, Ondo State Admission into Bachelor’s Degree Programmes in (P&O), Community Health Science, Environmental Health Science and Health Information Management

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the commencement of the Bachelor's degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics (BPO), Community Health Science, Environmental Health Science and Information Management programmes at the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, Ondo State(UNIMED) from the 2020/2021 academic session. As part of initiatives to broaden the knowledge base and improve capacity in this fast-growing and highly promising field, UNIMED is offering a package of educational programmes leading to Bachelor's degree for different categories of applicants HND and ND graduates as well as fresh secondary school/A-level/IJMB certificate holders.The University hereby invites suitably qualified candidates for the various programmes as described below: 

I. BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN PROSTHETICS & ORTHOTICS (P&O) 

A. BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN PROSTHETICS & ORTHOTICS (P&O) CONVERSION PROGRAMME FOR HND GRADUATES 

Requirements: Applicants must possess the following: 

  1. 1.Five (5) credit passes at SSCE / NECO / GCE 'O' Level at not more than two sittings: English Language, Mathematics, any two from Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The fifth credit can be in any subject. 
  2. HND certificate in Prosthetics and Orthotics Technology from a recognised institution. 
  3. NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. Duration of program: Two (2) years. Application Process: Interested applicants are to apply at www.unimed.edu.ng  

B.DIRECT ENTRY TO BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN PROSTHETICS & ORTHOTICS (P&O) CONVERSION PROGRAMME FOR OND GRADUATES (200 LEVEL) 

(i) Blended Learning Programme for holders of OND in PROSTHETICS AND ORTHOTICS Requirements: Applicants will be admitted to 200 level and must possess the following: 

1. Five (5) credit passes at SSCE / NECO / GCE '0' Level at not more than two sittings: English Language, Mathematics, any two from Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The fifth credit can be in any subject. 

2. ND certificate in Prosthetics and Orthotics Technology from a recognised institution.

Duration of program: Four (4) years 

Application Process: Interested applicants should take JAMB Form and select UNIMED and P&O as the course of study AND follow additional administrative processes as outline on the university website (www.unimed.edu.ng

(ii) Regular Programme in Prosthetics and Orthotics 

Requirements: Applicants would be admitted into 200 level and must possess: 

1. Five (5) credit passes at SSCE I NECO / GCE 'O' Level at not more than two sittings: English Language, Mathematics, any two from Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The fifth credit can be in any subject. 

2.OND certificate in Prosthetics and Orthotics Technology from a recognised institution OR Good grades in JUPEB/A-level OR B.Sc from a relevant discipline from a recognized institution Candidates are required to pass the post-UTME examination that would be conducted by the university. 

Duration of program: Four (4) years 

Application Process: Interested applicants should apply through JAMB (Direct Entry Form) 

C. 100 LEVEL ENTRY TO BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN PROSTHETICS 

Requirements: Applicants to be admitted to 100 level and must: 

1. Possess Five (5) credit passes at SSCE / NECO / GCE '0' Level at not more than two sittings: English Language, Mathematics, any other three Science-based subjects. 

2. Pass UTME as well as post-UTME examinations 

2. BACHELOR'S DEGREE PROGRAMMES IN: 

(a) COMMUNITY HEALTH SCIENCE, 

(b) ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SCIENCE, AND

 (c) HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT

D. DIRECT ENTRY TO BACHELOR’S DEGREE PROGRAMMES IN COMMUNITY HEALTH SCIENCE, ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SCIENCE AND HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (200 LEVEL) 

(i) Blended Learning Programme for holders of OND in COMMUNITY HEALTH SCIENCE, ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SCIENCE AND HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT 

Requirements: Applicants will be admitted to 200 level and must possess the following: 

1. Five (5) credit passes at SSCE / NECO / GCE 'O' Level at not more than two sittings: English Language, Mathematics, any other three science subjects. 

2.OND certificates in Community Health Science, Environmental Health Science and Health Information Management from a recognised institution. 

Duration of program: Three (3) years 

Applicants with working experience not below 3years are at an advantage. 

Application Process: Interested applicants should obtain the JAMB form for Direct Entry, select the course the desire AND follow additional administrative processes as outlined on the university website (www.unimed.edu.ng

(ii) Regular Programmes for Community Health Science, Environmental Health Science and Health Information Management 

Requirements: Applicants will be admitted to 200 level and must possess the following: 

1. Five (5) credit passes at SSCE I NECO I GCE 'O' Level at not more than two sittings: English Language, Mathematics, any other three science subjects. 

2.OND certificate in Community Health Science, Environmental Health Science and Health Information Management from a recognised institution OR Good grades in JUPEB/A-level OR B.Sc degree from a relevant discipline from a recognized institution. Candidates are required to pass the post-UTME examination that would be conducted by the University.

E. 100 LEVEL ENTRY TO BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN PROSTHETICS AND ORTHOTICS, COMMUNITY HEALTH SCIENCE, ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SCIENCE AND HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT 

Requirements:  Applicants to be admitted to 100 level and must:
