2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION PROGRAMMES AVAILABLE:

• National Diploma (ND) – 2 years
• Higher National Diploma (HND) – 2 years

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:  

Candidates must possess five (5) credit passes in not more than two sittings in:

English Lanuage

Mathematics

Physics

Chemistry

Biology

Any other relevant subject (e.g. Biology, Economics, Geography, etc.)

ACCREDITATION:  

Fully accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

Recognized by the Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN).

NYSC ELIGIBILITY:  

Graduates are qualified for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) immediately after completion.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN HIM:  

Graduates of the programme can work as:

• Health Information Officers in hospitals, clinics, and health agencies
• Medical Records Managers.
• Data Analysts in Health Institutions and NGOs.
• Coding and Classification Officers.
• Health Informatics Officers.
• Public Health Data Officers.
• Lecturers and Researchers in Health Information Management.

METHOD OF APPLICATION:  

Applicants are to pay a non-refundable fee of 20,000 (Twenty Thousand Naira) only for HND and 15,000 (Fifteen Thousand Naira) only for ND into the UPT Teaching Hospital Account Number: 1102359544 School of Community and Allied Health Sciences, University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital and present the teller to the School Bursar for the issuance of official receipt and on presentation of evidence of such payment, obtain an application form from the office of the School Secretary at Neuropsychiatric Building, UPTH.

ND/HND SELECTION INTERVIEW:  

Entrance Examination date and time will be communicated to you. Applicants should bring along writing materials for the examination.

Mobile phones are not allowed into the examination hall. Applicants are to bring along original copies of all their certificates.
